This month also marks the beginning of the tourists’ seasons and people flock here in great numbers. By late April, all the lakes including the Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri begin to melt, uncovering the beautiful colors and fabulous sights. In order to welcome more guests, hotels and guesthouses offer heavy discounts. This benefits all the travelers who happen to be present here around this time. If you are visiting Ladakh during this time then opt for flights as all the roads and the passes do not open at this time. The weather, however, is still not sunny and warm as the usual summers. Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport is the main airport of the area. The flights are directly connected from Delhi, Srinagar, and Jammu.
The temperature can go as high as 30 degree C. During nights, the temperature would reach the minimum of 16 – 20 degree C. The summer here is neither cold nor hot. The climate would be pleasant all throughout the day. The summer ends in September. Summer ends in September. According to many, the best time to visit this place is between June and August. The summer would be at its prime and thus, the snow would all be melted giving the place a good greenery look. You can find a lot of tourists in this place during this period.

During the rest of the year, Manali-Leh highway is not functional and the only operational way is the Srinagar-Leh highway which also gets affected by occasional landslides. The Frozen River Trek, one of the most famous treks here is carried out in the months of December and January along the river Zaskar. However, winter in Ladakh has an exceptional charm of its own. For the adventurous-at-heart, winter is the perfect opportunity to experience Ladakh in its authentic self; all covered up with inches deep snow.
